About UIDAI
Established under the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, UIDAI is a statutory authority set up by the Government of India. The UIDAI was created to issue Unique Identification numbers, known as Aadhaar, to all Indian residents. This system aims to eliminate fake identities and provide a reliable and cost-effective method for identity verification. As of March 31, 2022, UIDAI has issued over 131 crore Aadhaar numbers.
UIDAI’s responsibilities include the enrollment and authentication processes related to Aadhaar, managing its lifecycle, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring the security of identity information.
Purpose of the Aadhaar UIDAI Internship 2024

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Aadhaar UIDAI Internship 2024, candidates must be Indian citizens and meet the following criteria:
- Undergraduate Students: Must be in their 3rd or 4th year of a B.Tech or BE course with a minimum of 60% marks (or a GPA of 6.0) in all prior semesters.
- Postgraduate Students: Should have completed or be appearing for the end-of-term exams of the first year or second semester of their postgraduate program or be pursuing research/PhD, with a minimum of 60% marks in their undergraduate studies.
- Graduates: Recent graduates or those awaiting admission to higher studies or employment can apply if they have secured at least 60% marks cumulatively in their previous academic years.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on the recommendations of a Selection Committee appointed by UIDAI, and may include personal or virtual interviews. Note that no travel or accommodation expenses will be reimbursed for interviews. The decision of the Selection Committee regarding the suitability of candidates will be final.
Experience Certificate
Upon successful completion of the internship, UIDAI will issue a certificate, subject to satisfactory performance and completion of assigned tasks, as recommended by the reporting officer.
Stipend
Interns will receive a monthly stipend, with the exact amount detailed in the internship guidelines. PhD candidates already receiving a fellowship may be eligible for a gap stipend.
Internship Locations
Interns will be based at UIDAI’s Technology Centre in Bengaluru, Regional offices, or Headquarters, or may work remotely under the supervision of a project supervisor.
Duration of Internship
The internship lasts between six weeks and twelve months. Interns who do not complete the required duration will not receive a certificate.
